Matt Milam, P.A.-C.

Michael "Matt" Milam is a highly skilled and experienced physician assistant with a strong background in orthopaedics. He brings over two decades of dedicated service and expertise to his new role at Flagstaff Bone & Joint. For the past ten years, Matt has been a cornerstone at an orthopaedic and sports medicine practice in Springfield, Ohio, where he has honed his skills. Matt began his medical career as an assistant athletic trainer at North High School in Springfield, Ohio. Inspired by a professor to pursue a more challenging path, he took the opportunity to shadow a physician assistant in the training room, which set the course for his future.

Matt's educational background is extensive and well-rounded. He earned his bachelor’s degree in athletic training from Wilmington College in Wilmington, Ohio, in 2001. He then pursued a master’s degree in education at Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio, graduating in 2003. Driven by a passion for medicine, Matt completed a Certificate in Physician Assistant Studies from Kettering College of Medical Arts in Kettering, Ohio, in 2005. His commitment to advancing his knowledge led him to earn a master’s in physician assistant studies from Pace University in New York, New York, in 2016. In 2018, Matt achieved the Certificate of Added Qualifications (CAQ) in Orthopaedic Surgery, further solidifying his expertise in the field.

Matt has joined the Spine Team at Flagstaff Bone & Joint, where he assists in both the OR and clinic. He brings his extensive expertise in orthopaedics to enhance patient care and outcomes. Matt recently moved from his hometown of Springfield, Ohio, to Flagstaff, Arizona, with his family. Family is a central part of Matt's life, and he enjoys spending quality time with them. An avid skier and small-town mountain enthusiast, Matt has a deep appreciation for outdoor activities. He enjoys coaching youth soccer and basketball, contributing to his community by fostering sportsmanship and teamwork in young athletes. Matt has a special connection to Arizona, with family residing in Phoenix and fond memories of skiing trips in Flagstaff. His love for skiing and the mountains makes him a great fit for the Flagstaff Bone & Joint team.
